Amazingly, it had been over four and a half years since Staut released the critically acclaimed album "Makalaus" until their new album "Lett å vara kødd" was released in the fall of 2023. The reception was, as always, very positive, which was perhaps not surprising given that the strong tracks were topped with renowned guest musicians such as Geir Sundstøl (guitars and pedal steel), Marion Ravn, Karl Seglem (saxophone), and not least: Sølvguttene.

Nevertheless, despite the long wait between albums, STAUT has by no means been idle. They have released both singles and an EP (January 2023), and it is certainly not wrong to say that the sextet, which has toured Norway more often than most other ensembles and collected both first places on the sales charts and gold records, is now in their busiest period in a long time—both in terms of releases and concerts.

And indeed, concerts are something STAUT will soon be doing much more of. STAUT consists of Gaute Lein, Asle Tronrud, Ørnulf Juvkam Dyve, Dag Arve Sandnes, Frode Flatland, and Torgeir Bolstad.
