About
Di Derre, a prominent Norwegian band, had a major Norsktoppen hit in 1992 and have since achieved considerable success within the music scene. The band's impressive discography includes albums such as "Jenter & Sånn," "Gym," and "Historien om et band," which have captured the hearts of music lovers in Norway and beyond.
The band was founded in Molde by the brothers Jo Nesbø (born 1960) and Knut Nesbø (1961–2013), and they put together the first line-up. Jo Nesbø took on the vocals and guitar, while Knut Nesbø contributed guitar and mandolin. The rest of the line-up included Magnus Larsen (born 1963) on bass and Sverre Beyer (1958–2002) on drums.
After Knut Nesbø's tragic death due to cancer in February 2013, Unni Wilhelmsen was introduced as the new guitarist. That same year, the group released a double compilation album called "Historien om et Band," which featured a new song and a bonus DVD documentary. In 2018, they released a new studio album entitled "Høyenhall." This time their live keyboardist Halvor Holter and live guitarist Lars Jones had been made permanent members. The following year, in 2019, "Live i marka – med KORK" came out, adding another dimension to the band's versatility.
With its characteristic mix of pop, rock and folk music, Di Derre has created a unique sound that appeals to a wide audience. The band is known for their lively performances on stage, where they deliver an engaging mix of musicality and energy. Their interaction with the audience gives an intimate feel to their concerts.
