About
From the small town of Tønsberg emerged Seigmen in the late 1980s. In this unlikely environment, one of Norway's most successful rock bands was born.
Members Alex Møklebust (vocals), Kim Ljung (bass), Noralf Ronthi (drums), Sverre Økshoff (guitar), and Marius Roth (guitar) brought various musical preferences to the table, from grunge and hardcore to prog and synthpop. Despite this diversity, it was the wave of grunge from Seattle that caught the attention of Sony Music, and the band was signed. The collaboration resulted in a series of top 10 albums and songs.
The breakthrough came with the album "Total" in 1994, produced by Sylvia Massy (known for her work with Tool). The album was later voted one of Norway's 100 best albums of all time. "Metropolis" (1995) went platinum and won a Norwegian Grammy, and "Radiowaves" (1997) topped the charts.
However, despite the success, the band dissolved in 1999 when Økshoff left Seigmen. They adhered to the motto "One for all, all for one."
But musical friendship and uniqueness are hard to let go of. Seigmen reunited six years later, and in 2015, the album "Enola" was released, recorded in the same studio where it all began with "Pluto" in 1992.
Seigmen released their most recent single "Elskhat" in 2024.
