About

Henrik Ibsen's Complete Works in 68 Minutes!
A summer show by Knut Nærum

Henrik Ibsen! Just the name is enough to make adults exclaim, "Will this be on the exam?!"

But what does the poet mean to us in 2025? Does he still have something important to offer, or has Ibsen become something we tolerate because it's good for us? Have Ibsen's plays become the theatrical equivalent of cod liver oil?

Three daring young actors – and a musician – will explore this in a little over an hour. Henrik Ibsen's Complete Works in 68 Minutes is a summer show where writer Knut Nærum uses every tool at his disposal to make Ibsen relevant to our time. Here, Ibsen is retold with contemporary techniques. Could Terje Vigen participate in "Champions of the Masters"? Does Peer Gynt make more sense as "The Masked Singer"? Is "The Pretenders" really about Trond Giske? Is "An Enemy of the People" actually an action film? Time will tell.

There will be sketches, songs, dances, and 1970s German porn. Can Ibsen be saved? Does he need saving? Once all the plays have been retold – or at least briefly touched upon – the audience will deliver the verdict.
